As the summer comes to a halt, it’s time to enjoy some autumnal watches as we snuggle up under blankets and duvets. This month is offering a number of exciting new documentaries, TV shows, and films for us to dig our teeth into. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some of the exciting new releases you can look forward to.
Tell Me Lies season two
4 September
This Hulu thriller set in a small private college is returning once again to shake things up, and sapphics have every right to be excited. In season one, fans watched eagerly as the main characters – Lucy and Stephen – fell madly (and toxically) in love. While this storyline was going on, queer viewers were quick to latch onto the side plot between Pippa (Lucy’s best friend) and Lucy’s lesbian flatmate Charlie. Will we get to see some more sapphic action?
Selling Sunset season eight
6 September
Everyone’s favourite real estate queen Chrishell Stause is back once again for another instalment of this fan-favourite show. After coming out on Selling Sunset and announcing her relationship with singer and drummer G Flip, Chrishell has become a queer icon. We’re hoping to see more of this cute couple in this series.
Child Star
17 September
Directed by queer icon Demi Lovato, this new documentary marks the Cool For The Summer singer’s directorial debut. As the name suggests, this new documentary will be going into the highs and lows of being a young star in the entertainment industry. Numerous queer celebs will also feature including Raven-Symoné, JoJo Siwa, and Alyson Stoner.
Will And Harper
27 September
Will Ferrell’s new film takes viewers on a completely unique road trip with his best friend Harper Steele. After Harper comes out as a trans woman, the pair go on a heartwarming journey to learn more about each other.
My Old Ass
27 September
Imagine being 18 about to leave for college when you hallucinate your adult self after taking shrooms. Now imagine that your older self is actually Aubrey Plaza, and she’s warning you to stay away from a boy. This coming-of-age film tackles growing up, queerness, and bisexuality in a way that we have rarely seen before.
