From electronic to bedroom indie, September is going to be full of new LGBTQIA tunes and albums that will soon be blasting through our headphones.

Here’s a sneak peak of some of the queer releases that we’re excited for this month.

Okay Kaya – Oh My God – That’s So Me

6 September

After a two year hiatus, the ethereal Norweigan-American musician Okay Kaya, is due to release her fourth album on 6 September. The pop artist frequently writes dream-like compositions with unforgettable imagery and Oh My God – That’s So Me will likely be no different.

Orion Sun – Orion

20 September

Following a two year hiatus, singer-songwriter and producer Orion Sun is set to release a new album called Orion on 20 September. The queer indie-pop artist released the dreamy single Mary Jane earlier this summer as a taster for the upcoming album and we’re obsessed.

Pale Waves – Smitten

20 September

The Manchester-based rock band are due to release their queerest album yet titled Smitten on 20 September.

The openly queer lead singer, Heather Baron-Gracie told Rolling Stone that: “It kind of became an album that was a reflection of all those interactions and experiences, and moments of me figuring out my sexuality, and also moments of me being with another woman figuring out her sexuality.”

Katy Perry – 143

20 September

The I Kissed A Girl popstar is due to release her sixth album 143 on 20 September. The new album will feature collaborations with 21 Savage, Doechii and the one and only trans icon Kim Petras.

SOPHIE – SOPHIE

27 September

The family of the modern pop pioneer SOPHIE are due to release a posthumous album of unreleased tracks on 27 September. The avant-pop artist who is known for tracks such as Faceshopping and It’s Okay To Cry had an unheard single released called Reason Why with Kim Petras and BC Kingdom earlier this year.
