For many, The Common Press is more than just a bookshop. Since its opening in 2019, The Common Press has been used as a space for LGBTQIA storytelling, hosting events, book launches, workshops, and social gatherings that bring our community closer. It is a hub to celebrate the beauty of queer literature, to listen to queer poets, and it has given many a space to truly feel like themselves.

After years of giving back to the community, The Common Press needs our help. The Shoreditch-based bookshop and café is looking to raise £100,000 to help support it through the next stage of its life as a Community Interest Company. This money will help the space to live on, allowing more voices and events to be showcased.

The dedicated team of queer BIPOC, trans, non-binary folx, and queer women at the helm of The Common Press are determined to keep the space inclusive and open to all. Becoming a Community Interest Company would mean that the shop can give back to the community in more ways than ever.

You can donate and share via their Crowdfund campaign to keep this safe space open.
