Taking place on 27 July, London Trans+ Pride broke records, becoming the biggest trans Pride in the world, with over 55,000 people in attendance. Marching through London, this year’s Pride celebrated trans+ lives, past and present, standing for trans+ rights and also marched in solidarity with Palestine, Sudan, Haiti and Congo.

Heartstopper’s Yasmin Finney, Trans Legal Clinic founder Olivia Campbell-Cavendish, and Trans Prisoner Alliance founder and activist Sarah Jane Baker all gave powerful speeches on the day. Centring around the theme of Justice And Liberation, one of the founding members of London Trans+ Pride Lewis G. Burton said that “this year’s theme is in response to the ongoing injustices and atrocities happening across the world.”

A number of famous faces were seen at London Trans+ Pride, coming out in support of the movement and the message of the event. Activist and model Munroe Bergdorf (she/her) said: “Every London Trans Pride I attend is even more empowering and galvanising than the last. During these trying times for the UK trans community, LTP is a much-needed ray of hope.”

Sex Education star Anthony Lexa (she/her) also commented on the power of Pride: “I’ve lived in London since 2021 but London Trans+ Pride feels more important this year than any other. Visibility could save lives as young trans people become the frequent target of political scapegoating and neglect. All trans people are valid. All trans people deserve love. All trans people should be RESPECTED.”
