Linda Riley’s new documentary – now titled Life Of Riley: Head Lesbian Of The World – has been acquired by My5. First premiered during Lesbian Visibility Week 2024, the film portrays the life and activism of lesbian icon Linda Riley.
Life Of Riley moves between showcasing the activities of Lesbian Visibility Week 2023 and looking back at the last four decades of Linda’s life using archive footage. Audiences can see candid interviews with friends, family, and some frenemies to learn more about the LGBTQIA activist. The film asks: is Linda Riley the saviour of lesbian culture or aspiring politician or celebrity icon?
Director, Jacquie Lawrence, said: “I am beyond thrilled that the documentary will get the exposure it deserves. It tells an extraordinary story about an even more extraordinary person and deserves to be told to as wide an audience as possible. We appreciate Five and My5 for supporting us and want to especially thank Kit Morey, (VP) Commissioning Editor Paramount/Channel 5, for championing the film.”
Linda Riley added: “If you had told me last year when the filming started, that my life would be broadcast on a British television channel, I would not have believed you. But it’s been an incredible adventure and I’m simply delighted!”
