The grassroots Pride event Trans Pride Manchester has announced it is doubling the event size in preparation for over 5,000 attendees. This year’s Trans Pride Manchester will be taking place on 3 August. In 2023, the organisation held its first-ever event, consisting of a march through the centre of Manchester, panel events, stalls, and an open mic event.
Arlo, co-director and co-organiser for Trans Pride Manchester, said: “We were overwhelmed by the number of people who came out in support of our first-ever event last year. Our march ended in Stevenson’s Square and was attended by almost 3,000 people – we barely fit into the space! Over the past 12 months, we have built up an incredible network of partners to ensure that this year’s event has an even bigger and better offer.”

This year’s event will consist of a series of speeches followed by a circular march, beginning and ending at St Peter’s Square to accommodate the growing number of attendees.
The event will take place in four separate venues across Manchester, where talks, panels, workshops, and drop-in sessions will be hosted. This will be followed by cabaret and comedy in the evening, wrapping up with two after-parties.
Trans Pride Manchester has worked with a series of partners including Manchester Pride, Queer as F*CK, Queer Lit, Feel Good Club, The Proud Place, Manchester Art Gallery, LGBT Foundation, Girls on Film, Wink Manchester, Proud2Be Parents, and more!
An attendee from last year’s event said: “Manchester Trans Pride was a brilliant event. I found myself surrounded by a community of people filled with love and hope for a better future for all trans and gender non-conforming people.”
