I was already excited for the second season of House Of The Dragon (HOTD). But since hearing that Abigail Thorn has been cast in this next instalment, I’m more eager than ever to return to the world of Westeros.
Abigail is an actor, writer, podcast host and creator of the show Philosophy Tube who happens to be a certified trans icon. 2024 is proving to be a big year for the star. Not only is she joining the Game Of Thrones franchise through HOTD, but she’s also landed a role in the Star Wars Cinematic Universe series The Acolyte.
The actor shared her excitement in an Instagram Reel. She was visibly buzzing as she told her followers that we’ll see her portray Sharako Lohar – who she dubs as “one of the most badass cutthroats of all time” – in the second season.
Abigail is not the only LGBTQIA actor within the cast. Non-binary actor Emma D’Arcy portrays Rhaenyra Targaryen and gay actor Bethany Antonia portrays Baela Targaryen. The first season also starred queer actor Emily Carey as the younger Alicent Hightower.
House Of The Dragon’s second season is set to arrive on Max on 16 June.
