Pop sensation Jessie J has reportedly apologised to her ex-girlfriend for calling bisexuality a “phase” at a recent acoustic show, according to Out. Performing an unreleased song, the crowd were shocked when she sang the first lines of the song.

“2012, I broke up with my beautiful girlfriend,” Jessie sang. “With the press in my face, called it a phase, babe I’m sorry.”

Fans quickly drew the connection between these lines and an interview Jessie did in 2014 with The Mirror where she claimed that her previous relationships with women were a “phase”.

“For me, it was a phase,” she continued at the time. “But I’m not saying bisexuality is a phase for everybody. I feel that if I continue my career not speaking on it, I almost feel more of a liar than if I didn’t. I just want to be honest, and it’s really not a big deal. Who cares?”

After these comments, Jessie received a sizable amount of hate on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). At the time, she continued to assert her position that it was a “phase” for her but apologised to others she had offended.

However, it seems like 10 years later, Jessie has addressed this period in her new unreleased song. Jessie hasn’t spoken any further on the song.
