Football fans we need you! This Lesbian Visibility Week we want to (unofficially) break the World Record for the most LGBTQIA women and non-binary people having a kickabout. Taking place on 28 April, we want our timelines to be full to the brim of queer footie all over the world.
Get involved by organising a game with your local team, friends, or loved ones. Take a snap in your kit and tag us in your photos with either the hashtag #LVW24 or the Instagram handle @lesbianvisibilityweek.
The genius behind this kickabout is none other than FA consultant Liz Ward, who can’t wait for The Big Kickabout. “LGBTQIA women and non-binary people belong in sport, and we belong in football, from the Premier League to the local park,” Liz tells DIVA. “The Big Kickabout is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our community, so grab a ball and help us set an unofficial world record for Lesbian Visibility Week 2024!”
Whether you’re a certified pro or a complete newbie, let’s show the world how much football means to the LGBTQIA community this #LVW. Join us on the 28 April wherever you are, and let’s all have a kickabout.
DIVA magazine celebrates 30 years in print in 2024. If you like what we do, then get behind LGBTQIA media and keep us going for another generation. Your support is invaluable.
