As the sun starts to peek through the rainy clouds, one thing is clear – summer is very much on the horizon. And that means the return of a British summer staple: Glastonbury. Famed around the world as being one of the greatest festivals of all time, Glastonbury is known for hosting some of the biggest acts in the world.

This year’s lineup, revealed on 14 March, is set to be even queerer than ever, boasting an impressive line-up of LGBTQIA artists on all of its stages. Here’s our guide to the iconic music festival.

Janelle Monáe

Sapphics everywhere screamed in delight when it was announced that the queer icon Janelle Monáe would be gracing the Pyramid Stage. The LGBTQIA community went nuts last year after the non-binary star released their hit album The Age Of Pleasure, featuring tracks like Lipstick Lover. We absolutely cannot wait to see what this icon has up their sleeve for their Glastonbury performance.

Brittany Howard

Lesbian icon Brittany Howard will be performing on the West Holts stage this year, bringing her soulful voice to the masses. The five-time Grammy-winning artist has been a staple in the sapphic community since her Alabama Shakes days. Now crowds will get to sing along to tracks from her second solo album What Now.

Gossip

Get ready sapphics, Gossip is back! The iconic punk band have joined forces once again with the release of their new album Real Power. Fronted by the queer icon Beth Ditto, the band has always been a force to be reckoned with, providing the LGBTQIA community with songs like Standing In The Way Of Control since the early noughties. You do not want to miss their performance on the Woodsies stage.

Romy

Performing the tracks from her hit debut album Mid Air, Romy will be getting the crowds on their feet with her set on the Woodsies stage. The xx member released her dance album last year much to fans’ delight, providing sapphics everywhere with songs like Loveher to blast in the club.

Arlo Parks

This is officially an Arlo Parks fan account. The openly queer artist has wowed LGBTQIA crowds with tracks like Eugene, as well as the release of her album My Soft Machine last year. The indie pop artist will be performing on the Woodsies stage.

Aurora

The Norwegian singer-songwriter will be bringing queer hits like Queendom to The Park stage at this year’s festival. Listeners may remember her iconic cover of the Oasis song Half The World Away which featured in a John Lewis Christmas advert.

The Last Dinner Party

If you haven’t been keeping up with The Last Dinner Party, where have you been? The British indie rock band have been taking the world by storm with tracks like Nothing Matters and Sinner. Get ready to scream along to their hit songs on the Other stage.

The Breeders

Talk about iconic! The Breeders are an alternative rock band formed by Kim Deal in 1989, who have captivated listeners with their raw energy and unique sound ever since. With hits like Cannonball and Divine Hammer, they blend grunge, punk, and pop influences seamlessly, leaving an indelible mark on the ’90s music scene and beyond. They will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of their album Last Splash on The Park stage.
