Euphoria star Hunter Schafer was arrested on Monday (26 February) at a pro-Palestine protest organised by Jewish Voice For Peace. The group is demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The trans icon was seen in the lobby of NBCUniversal headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza while Joe Biden was filming his TV appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. She was wearing a black t-shirt that read “Ceasefire Now”. Other protestors held up banners that read: “Jews to Biden: Stop Arming Genocide.”
“Hunter was arrested at the protest, along with 50 other people,” a JVP spokesperson said in a statement. “We commend her commitment to Palestinian freedom and to a future of justice for everyone.”

Jewish Voice For Peace posted to Instagram about the arrest of their protestors, and in their caption, they wrote: “To all the celebrities, politicians, and people with large platforms who have yet to speak up for Palestinian freedom: Now is the time to use your voice. No one on the sidelines. None of us are free until Palestine is free.”
The organisation also posted a video where Hunter and the other protestors could be heard chanting: “No more weapons, no more war, ceasefire’s what we’re fighting for.”
Hunter is among many celebrities and activists who have publicly spoken about the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. Others include Cynthia Nixon and Bella Hadid.
