Getty Images announces a $20,000 LGBTQI+ Stories Creative Bursary

Getty Images, a world leader in visual communications, has announced its annual global Creative Bursary for 2019 – LGBTQ+ Stories. 

Getty Images’ mission is to “move the world with images” and this new bursary will help elevate the work of emerging creative talent using their art form to create inclusive visual stories through the medium of still photography. 

Created in recognition of the challenges faced by new talent when looking to break into the commercial industry, the team behind Getty recognise that in today’s digital age, it is vital the industry continues to discover and nurture creative talent.

LGBTQ+ Stories will be a one-time Bursary, where three recipients – selected in June 2019 – will be granted sums of either $10,000, $7000 or $3000, awarded by an esteemed panel of creative industry judges. 

The Creative Bursary is open to aspiring photographers globally.

Applications are open until 28 May 2019. The winners of the Creative Bursary will be announced on 7 June 2019, in preparation for the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.
